 Whetu Fun Day


Last Thursday we had a Whetu Fun Day as our camp was postponed.  Our teachers planned a fun day for us instead!  We participated in a Whetu Amazing Race, a range of different fun rotations, a BBQ lunch and play on the council playground then we finished the day with an Easter Egg hunt and an ice block.


My favourite part of the Amazing Race was exploring around Ngatea with my team first we had to start at 5 so the 5th one was to go behind the water gardens then we had to find a fake egg with a code on it then we have a paper to right down the code then we went to go finish off and our last one was number 3 but my team was Me,Sarah,Katatra,Lara,Shenae,Hiedi and Sarah’s mum and we came 7th place 


The rotation I enjoyed the most was team games cause i played a game i have never played before but the first game was a game i have played before so the first game was that you had to be chosen a colour and there was cones where there are little bean bags of colours and if we got the colour we were chosen and got 5 of the colour they win and the second game was when someone picks a action and the next person taps the other person on the shoulder and they have to show the action to the person they tap.



During the Easter Egg Hunt I found my stick at the little tree by the field on the other side and got the colour purple. We were supposed to find one for ourselves for an easter chocolate egg and an ice-block and they were delightful.


 



The easiest part was to find the sticks cause they are really bright but  mine was a dark purple though but it was still kinda easy cause the grass was nice bright soft green grass but i also had fun looking for the sticks and some were difficult cause some were in tree’s



The fun part was us going to the park to have a BBQ and play with our friends on the park and on the little field some people played BasketBall some played on the park on the swings on the little field playing touch but i played next to the swings.

Whetu Challenge

  On Friday my class did a whetu Challenge and the Challenge was to make a kite so i used bamboo and then i got something to make the kite then. I got some  tape and wool with some sharpies so first i wrote with the sharpies was kiwi for life and NZ. Then i got some tape and then put it on the centre and half way from the centre. Then i got a pin and made little holes in the middle of the tape then my friend Maia. Helped me put the wool threw the little holes then she did a knot. Then  we got a little bamboo stick and we kept going around in circles but i finished of after lunch then i waited till 2:00 cause. The whole school was gonna fly their kites but it wasn't really windy but we had to run but my. Kite didn't fly that high so some of the classes brought the kite back to school and flew it on Monday cause it was really windy so mind flew really really high then it didn't for a while so that was our whetu challenge bye.

Today I and my class did Play, Make, Create again cause it's Monday! so we all had to do it by ourselves cause of our teachers. Wanted to see how behaved we are by ourselves but I managed. It so I made a backpack it took a while for. Me to plan but I got threw it but before I. tell you about what I did here are some photos of the work I did. So let's start so I made a backpack as you can see so first I did the planning then I got the backpack paper the inside and the front so I started on the inside first I did the torch, binoculars, water bottle, knife, tent and a sleeping bag then I coloured it in with pencils then I did the front first I didn't know what to do but then I got purple and coloured it in and did some other colours and then I'm done enjoy!

Whetu Challenge

  Today my class did a whetu challenge so we did a base out of newspaper with. A tall tower and I did my one with Dean, Gaurav, Eleanor, and myself so here are 2 pictures of all of us working. On our tower. So we were alright at first but then it started to get heavier and heavier then it COLLAPSED! and fell. On the ground but we all had fun cause I and Eleanor haven't worked. With Dean or Gaurav so it was something new for us we laughed. While doing and sometimes we would argue but we got threw. It hope you like enjoy
